Levi 11, and Toby 6, have lost their father to a heart attack.

Two years later their alcoholic mother has lost the plot.

She is emotionally and physically abusive.

Toby asks to move from Manchester England to Australia and inexplicably she agrees.

Two days after their arrival, she is killed and the boys find themselves in the hands of a predatory priest.

When Levi accidently kills the priest, they run.

Straight into clutches of a very twisted lowlife running a child prostitution racket. An abuse survivor himself, Iceman has allowed it to destroy his humanity.

As they fight to keep their heads above water a lifeline appears in the form of a compassionate Senior Detective. 

With the help of David, a fellow abuse survivor now a social worker, they fight for their lives, sanity and freedom.

There is very little beauty in the drug affected world they find themselves in. Levi endures blow after blow after blow trying to protect his little brother.

Iceman blocks them at every turn, even killing to keep the upper hand. The crescendo builds in this  exhausting fight and ultimately costs Levi his own life. With a Judges hand in his pocket, Iceman wins the battle.

Toby finds himself alone in a foreign country, and part of a world he struggles to understand. 

The only thing left to hang onto and trust is David. 

As David’s own life burns around him, he finds himself the foster father of a very frightened, 8 year old boy, that his own past makes him determined to save.
