Prejudice based on skin colour, sexual orientation, or identity is often justified through rigid belief systems. When faith is used to exclude or condemn people who do not fit a narrow set of expectations, it can create a sense of entitlement to judge, reject, or harm others.
It is time to challenge that kind of religious entitlement by teaching children to lead with empathy, curiosity, and acceptance. The best way to counter hatred is to help young people understand that every person deserves dignity, friendship, and respect.
The child who seems different, isolated, or misunderstood in the schoolyard may have more in common with others than anyone realises. With compassion and openness, that person could become a close friend, an ally, or someone who changes the way others see the world.
Based in Australia, I am an emerging screenwriter whose work has yet to reach the screen. My goal is to create stories that make a statement, spark conversation, and confront difficult social and personal issues with honesty.
I approach heavy subject matter with a raw, detailed, and emotionally direct style. The themes I intend to explore include:
Through these subjects, I aim to challenge audiences, encourage reflection, and give space to experiences that are often hidden, misunderstood, or ignored.
In the spirit of #reconciliation, I acknowledge the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. I pay respect to all elders past and present. I extend that respect to all First Nations peoples today.
